Meet Dr. Alexandra McKenna
"It is such an honor to carry on the McKenna Orthodontics legacy into the fourth generation! Being an orthodontist means more than straightening teeth—it's about empowering our patients and helping them rediscover their confidence. One of the most rewarding aspects of this profession is seeing a patient who is embarrassed by their teeth blossom into an individual who shares their smile without hesitation. I love being an orthodontist because every smile I help create carries this newfound confidence, proving that a smile can transform both how you look and how you feel. Being a part of this transformation and watching my patients fall in love with their smile is a true privilege." - Dr Alex

As a fourth-generation orthodontist—and the first female orthodontist in her family—Dr. McKenna is proud to carry on our 100+ year tradition of family-centered, patient-focused care right here in Connecticut. She also advocates for improving access to care for individuals with special needs, and conducted research focused on autism and orthodontics to help create more inclusive, patient-centered treatment experiences.
Dr. McKenna grew up locally in Simsbury and is thrilled to return home to serve the community she knows and loves. Outside the office, you'll find Dr. McKenna skiing, hiking, traveling, golfing, or walking her adorable cocker spaniel, Mookie.
